I spent years feeling stuck in my own
body, until I found a way to heal.

I didn’t come to yoga and energy work because my life was easy.  



 

I came to it because I was suffering. I was consumed with complex trauma, struggling with depression and anxiety, and using alcohol to numb pain and get out of my head. 



 

I knew I needed something different. Yoga was my first step toward healing, offering me a healthier way to elevate my mood and regulate my nervous system.

 

But my sensitivity to energy had always been with me.

 

Since childhood, I could feel the energy in a room, sense spirits, and pick up on emotions that weren’t my own. For a long time, this sensitivity felt overwhelming, even frightening. As an adult, the intensity grew, and I didn’t know how to manage it.

It wasn’t until I found teachers to help me feel safe with the energy around me that I began to embrace my gift rather than fear it.

You already have everything you need inside you. I’m here to help you uncover it.

My biggest transformation came through Somatic Experiencing ® (SE). For years, traditional therapy left me feeling stuck, disconnected from my body and my truth. But SE changed everything. 

It helped me access deeper memories, recognize my triggers, and release trauma stored in my body. The impact was so profound that I became a Somatic Experiencing ® practitioner myself.

This work didn’t just shift my emotional state, it transformed my entire life. My anxiety went into remission. I found clarity. I felt safe in my body. And when I struggled with infertility for four years, my healing journey gave me the strength and self-awareness to navigate that challenging time.

In 2020, when yoga studios shut down, I knew I couldn’t let go of the relationships and healing I had cultivated. That’s when I founded DeAnna Houston Yoga—a space for women to heal, grow, and reclaim their power.

My mission is simple: to create a safe space for women to connect with themselves, cultivate energetic clarity, and embrace a life filled with joy and deep knowing.

From Control to Trust: My Fertility Journey

For four years, I tried to get pregnant.

I was desperate, convinced that if I just did everything “right” - changed my diet, avoided certain exercises, forced myself to learn life lessons - I could make it happen.

But month after month, I was met with disappointment. It felt like everyone around me was getting pregnant while I was stuck in an endless cycle of hope and heartbreak. I put so much pressure on myself, believing that having a baby was the key to finally feeling joy.

I remember one particularly difficult day, sobbing, consumed by grief, and pleading for someone to just tell me what to do. When I finally settled and meditated, a clear message came through: This journey will lead you to help others facing the same fertility struggles.

During those four years, I embarked on a deep healing journey. I became a yoga instructor and a Somatic Experiencing® practitioner, and I worked to release the childhood trauma that had been stored in my body for years. As I let go of control, I began to create space for stillness, balance, and trust.

When I went through IVF, Somatic Experiencing® became my anchor. It helped me stay present, recognize my triggers, and process anxiety and grief. By the time I went through my second round of IVF, I had fully surrendered. 

I was deeply present in my body and I trusted that my baby would arrive when they were meant to.
And they did. I became pregnant with twins. Two years later, to my surprise, I naturally conceived my third child.

I know firsthand that the fertility journey is about so much more than conception. 

It’s about navigating grief, releasing pressure, and learning to trust your body again.

Medical treatments focus on the physical, but emotional and energetic healing are just as important.

Through Fertility Yoga, Somatic Experiencing®, and energy work, I help women:

  • Process emotions like grief, frustration, and fear in a supportive space.

  • Reconnect with their bodies through gentle, intentional movement.

  • Shift from control to trust and embrace the journey with greater ease.

Empowered Pregnancy & Birth: 

Trusting Your Body’s Wisdom

It took me four years to get pregnant, and when I finally did, I was overcome with gratitude, but also filled with fear and uncertainty.

My body was changing rapidly as I grew twins, and I had to learn how to surrender to those changes.

Since my pregnancy was the result of IVF and considered high-risk, I was constantly navigating medical appointments, advice, and precautions.

But through yoga, Somatic Experiencing®, and energy work, I had already built the tools to stay grounded. I leaned into my body’s wisdom, trusting it to guide me through the unknown.

When it came time to give birth to the twins, I stayed present. I was so connected to my body that I led my own labor, even guiding the nurses on how I wanted to breathe and push.

When I became pregnant again, I knew I wanted a different experience. This time, I chose a home birth. 

A space where I could be fully supported, surrounded by a team who honored my  consent, intuition, and safety.  

Through Somatic Experiencing®, I had released my past birth trauma, clearing the fear stored in my body. I had also deepened my understanding of energy, allowing me to feel held not just by my birth team but by energies around me.

This time, my labor was short, instinctual, and transformative.

I roared my baby out—fully present, fully trusting, fully in my power.
